Disjecta Halloween 2009
final
color version
black and white version
I created the show poster promoting Disjecta’s 2009 Halloween event. I made two different versions.
The color version was made to stand out among the massive amount of show posters we have covering the walls and windows of popular hangouts and padding the sides of telephone poles. This was going to be a really cool event and we wanted it to get noticed.
The downside to color prints is that they are much more expensive than a photocopy. So, I made a black and white version as well.
Why didn’t I simply photocopy the color in black and white? Often, the black and white photocopies made from color posters result in muddy competing greys, reducing the legebility of the text and loosing the detail of any imagery.
Creating two versions of the poster meant that it took more time to design, but the end product was ultimately more versitile in its final application.
It occurs to me that the Cthulu on this poster would probably make a pretty sweet screenprint.
